What’s the Best Way to Cook an Egg? How to Do It 5 Different Ways…

How best to cook an egg? Scholars have long debated this query. We’re just gonna present the options and let you decide.

Scrambled

Crack the eggs into a bowl, add milk, and scramble it all together with a fork. Pour into a pan coated with olive oil and cook for a few minutes, pushing the eggs around with a spatula.

Poached

Break four eggs into simmering water and cook them for a minute. Loosen from the bottom of the pan with a spatula. Poach for three to five minutes and remove with a slotted spoon.

Fried/Sunny Side Up

Carefully crack the eggs into a frying pan on medium-high heat, one at a time. Cook until the whites are set but the yolks are still runny—about three minutes.

Hard-Boiled

Give your eggs a hot start: Place them directly from the fridge into already-boiling water. Then bring the water to a low simmer and cook for 11 minutes. This should help the shells slip right off when it’s time to peel.

Omelet

Whisk egg whites with salt and pepper. Pour into a non-stick skillet over medium heat. When finished cooking, add your toppings—cheese, meat, tomatoes—then fold over and serve.

What ways did we leave out? What’s your favorite way to prepare eggs?
