Unbelievably Healthy
Ice Cream

homemade ice cream

Sometimes after a hot day, all you want is some cold ice cream. This banana “ice cream” is incredibly delicious and also really healthy! The frozen bananas give it a rich creamy texture without any dairy or sugar- you won’t believe that’s it’s made of just fruit! Try adding berries, cocoa powder, or peanut butter to the food processor as well for a variety of flavors – the options are endless!

Homemade Banana “Ice Cream”

Ingredients

  • 5 ripe bananas
  • Optional mix in: 3 tablespoons cocoa powder

Topping

  • ¼ cup hot fudge
  • ¼ cup crushed peanuts or walnuts

or

  • ¼ cup honey

Equipment needed

  • resealable plastic bag
  • food processor

Directions

Peel and cut bananas in thirds. Place in a resealable plastic bag in the freezer overnight.

Place bananas in a food processor and puree until they have the texture of soft-serve ice cream. (This may take several minutes).

Remove from the food processor and add your favorite toppings! It’s great on it’s own or with hot fudge and crushed peanuts. If you’re going for a healthier dessert, try topping it with your favorite honey!
