Keep away from the tissue box this season by making sure your body has all the nutrients it needs to fight off a winter cold.

Kale for fiber
Apple for flavor and antioxidants
Ginger for digestion
Spinach for Vitamin E and magnesium
Cucumber for folate and potassium
Lemon for Vitamin C
Cilantro for anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties

Green Juice Recipe

  • 3 leaves kale
  • 1 apple, core removed
  • ½ inch fresh ginger
  • 1 cup spinach
  • 1 small cucumber
  • Juice of ½ lemon
  • 4 sprigs cilantro
  • 1 cup water

Blend all ingredients in a high-power blender (i.e. Vitamix) and serve chilled. Makes 1 serving.
