NOW AVAILABLE

Plated is happy to announce Plated Platinum for Pups, our premium canine line, sourced and created exclusively for (wo)man’s best friend.

This week’s menu features three courses of chef-designed and curated recipes that are easy enough for your dog to create on their own* and are safe for their cute tummies (belly rubs not included).

First Course: Broiled Apple Slices with Gruyere Cheese
Main Course: Turkey Sliders on Rosemary-Cheddar Biscuits with Carrot-Pumpkin Mash and Dehydrated Green Beans
Dessert: Peanut Butter Mousse and Greek Yogurt Trifle with Cranberry Biscuit Crust

We recommend that these courses be served alongside one another in a Bone China dog bowl atop a platinum serving tray. The offerings pair well with chicken stock flavored filtered spring water.

You obviously don’t have fur kids that are fed human grade food lolol. My babies get chopped raw steak, cooked herbed chicken, ground turkey and veggie meatballs, peanut butter and carrot gluten free muffins, chopped apples and grated cheese, and mashed brussel sprouts. Thanks for the idea of the carrot and pumpkin mash :)

And since both of mine are rescues – yes, I will donate :)

Lol – Well kudos to you for being such a great fur mom and paw-mpering your rescues!

Badass BK will be happy for your donation. Thanks and Happy April Fool’s Day :)

April Fool??! Why? I was genuinely excited about Plated for Pups! Very clever ruse, though! Even better if it can help a few less fortunate dogs who have no one to buy and prepare them chef-quality meals.

This is crazy – you send me an email launching this product. Then your website says that you decided NOT to offer it for sale. Very unprofessional and I will now ban your emails from my inbox.

      Hi Kathleen,

This was an April Fool’s Day campaign – If you click through, you can donate to our rescue of choice, Badass Brooklyn Animal Rescue (but we totally support you donating to your favorite organization as well)!

Please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any questions, and happy April Fool’s Day :)

Kathleen, you aren’t really going to take your ball and go home? I hope you are joking and just pretending to be upset because this was a very cute and cleaver joke. You gotta lighten up, it is April fools after all! :)

I’m with Kathleen. This kinda ticked me off. I genuinely got excited to get this for my dogs and was ready to make the purchase when it redirected me to an April Fool’s page. Extremely unprofessional and a great example of how to lose customers. I appreciate and respect you helping out the rescue foundation because my two dogs are rescues, however you should have ran a different campaign. Angering your paying customers isn’t smart on your behalf. Any well-established, respectable business wouldn’t participate in April Fool’s. If you want to make this right to your customers, I would suggest actually offering a doggy box.

I wish this was not an April Fools prank. I’d be so in!!! I have two awesome rescue dogs who have subscriptions to happydogbox, barkbox and bestfriendbox. I love to spoil my furry family.

Come on people, get a sense of humor! Interesting idea, but to to threaten pulling your business? Life’s too short not to smile at stuff like this.

Thanks for all the great meals so far.

When we sat down to our own plated meal we had actually mentioned how nice this would be!

However as a vet I was a little worried to see so much yogurt and cheese was in there, dogs are lactose intolerant.

Fun idea though! If you do ever decide to go down that road, please work with a board certified veterinary nutritionist to help create truly complete and balanced diets. A lot of recipes online, even those written by veterinarians are not. Scary.

Thanks for the fun April Fools Joke!

I have to admit I was rather disappointed to learn that this was a trick. My little guy JT says you and your site can consider him an enemy for life now. He will still continue to beg for scraps off your meals it just won’t be as dramatic as before. I actually forwarded your email to my girlfriend. She must think I’m a tool now lol.

Nicole, your original post was flagged for inappropriate content (abusive language). I do hope you made a donation to the rescue, as this April Fool’s Day campaign was to their benefit.

      Have a wonderful day!

Wow…I am so surprised to see how upset some people got over this…to include “abusive language”? Lighten up, folks. Life is way too short. I didn’t open this email on April Fools Day, so I admit I bought into it for a few minutes and laughed at both the joke AND myself when I figured it out.

I applaud The Plated team for this campaign which, at the end of the day, was more than just a prank, but also raised money for a worthy cause. There was no intent to insult their customers here. As a aubscriber to several small business newsletters, this was NOT the only business that pulled a similar prank. I think it brings back the human element so easily lost with large companies and conglomerates. If you would rather be one of millions of customers for a company that will never know your name or appreciate your business, stick to big businesses and box stores. And if you feel that passionately about producing a similar canine line…why don’t you do it yourself?
