3 Recipes to get you started
Maybe you are sold on kale in savory recipes and salads, but have you tried kale smoothies? We love adding this leafy green to our morning drinks! Start off with adding a little to a smoothie with peanut butter or chocolate, so the flavor isn’t so prominent, then work your way up to the Pineapple-Kiefer smoothie or the Kale Detox Smoothie! You’ll be hooked on this healthy treat in no time!
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1 very ripe banana, frozen
- 2 tablespoons natural peanut butter
- ¾ cup kale
- 2-3 ice cubes
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons chia seeds
- 2 teaspoons ground flaxseed
In a blender, combine all ingredients and blend on high until smooth. As a variation, try adding 1-2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder!
Pineapple-Kefir Kale Smoothie Recipe
- 1 cup chopped frozen pineapple
- 1 cup plain kefir (or yogurt)
- ½ cup kale
- stevia powder or honey to taste
In a blender, combine all ingredients and blend on high until smooth. Taste, and add sweetener if desired.
- ½ cup kale
- 1 cup watermelon
- 3-4 strawberries
- ½ stalk celery
- 1 packet stevia
- 1 teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
