When Your Charcuterie Board Becomes a Grilled Cheese Sandwich…

Image uploaded from iOS

If you’ve been a Plated customer, whether it’s been for one week or three years, you may have picked up on this fact: Our chefs have a serious love affair with grilled cheese sandwiches. Melty on the inside, crispy on the outside, we are nothing short of obsessed. The gooey sandwich is endlessly customizable, from types of cheese, toppings, bread, and a whole slew of extra layering options. This week, we’re taking some pairings from our favorite cheese board and turning them into grilled cheese.

Ricotta and Honey

¼ cup ricotta
½ cup shredded cheeses

In a medium bowl, mix together ricotta, shredded mozzarella, and white cheddar. Spread cheese mixture on bread and drizzle honey over. Sprinkle with Maldon, top with remaining bread slice and make into grilled cheese.

Brie and Fig

1/2 cup sliced brie
A few tablespoons fig jam

Layer cheese, fig jam, and more cheese between two slices of bead. Make sure cheese is always next to the bread. Grill!

Parmesan and Salumi

1/4 cup mozzarella
1/4 cup shredded Parmesan
1/4 pound salumi

Layer shredded mozzarella, then shredded Parmesan, then salumi, more Parmesan, more shredded mozzarella between two slices of bread. Make sure cheese is always next to the bread. Grill!
